The Global Ambassadors are a team of inspirational leaders outside Vancouver who aim to spread awareness in their local areas and raise funds for our cause. From Everest expedition members to highly motivated High School students; this team lets us grow as a project by starting educative conversations about the importance of child health care facilities.

What makes you passionate about the project?

As a public health and nutrition major, I have always been passionate about finding ways to improve the health of those who live around us--whether it be in our local community, or on an international level. I have watched the Tanzania Heart Babies Project evolve from just two dedicated members into the strong team that exists today, and could not be more excited to be able to contribute to this cause. The efforts of this team will not only help to save countless lives, but will give parents and families hope and joy in the face of such difficult situations.

What makes you passionate about the project?

As a child, my pediatrician recommended I go to a cardiologist for a heart murmur. After a few ultrasounds and blood work-ups, my murmur was thankfully deemed harmless. On the other hand, there are millions of people around the world with abnormal heart murmurs, congenital heart defects (CHDs), and other diseases. I am doing this trek for them. I am trekking the tallest mountain in the world for all of the innocent people who are battling or have lost a battle due to their heart condition.

Along the route, I will be monitoring my own heart. I plan to use simple medical diagnostics like blood pressure, heart rate, and blood oxygen readings to understand what happens to the human body at 18,000 feet. If we can understand what happens to humans in stressful environments, then perhaps we can one day solve the problem of heart disease.

What makes you passionate about the project?

I have been interested in the medical realm for years now, especially because of its ability to aid ill people. Participating in this campaign is an amazing opportunity for me to help my own country. I cannot think of a better way to give back to my own community. And to quote one of my favorite authors: "Saving one life is equivalent to saving the whole of humanity"

What makes you passionate about the project?

There are so many amazing charities around the world, but what makes me passionate about this project is that, I will be able to give a helping to hand to thousands of Tanzanian children with heart problems. They get to grow up, choose their own paths, and make a name for themselves. Something every human being has a right to. All that anybody ever wants is a chance, and I’m glad we are able to give him or her that chance with this project. Excited for the road ahead.

What makes you passionate about the project?

From a dead-end, to an endless road of opportunities, the Tanzania Heart Babies initiation is a project that defines hope and encourages development. Having lived in Tanzania for 17 years, I have been exposed to some of the harsh realities that haunt many families here, and consequently a thriving passion of mine has been to give back to this community in any way I can. The youth of Tanzania is filled with incredible possibilities, and what better way to cater for this potential than by giving children a second chance. The Tanzania Heart Babies project strives to do just that by supporting open-heart surgeries and treatment. My passion for this project stems from the genuine desire to save lives, and restore hope in the families, children and youth of Tanzania.
